Arawak Cement has launched its Heart Healthy campaign as part of a global CEMEX Initiative for the prevention of heart disease.

Statistics from the World Health Organization (WHO) shows that cardiovascular disease is the number one cause of death worldwide. Given these alarming statistics, heart health is taking centre-stage at Arawak and the company is encouraging and motivating employees to adopt healthy life choices within and outside the workplace.

The campaign started with an invitation for employees to begin the year by making a resolution to start at least one healthy habit and/or by removing an unhealthy one. Arawak’s Health and Safety team has taken further steps to heighten awareness through training sessions and brochures and has cemented its commitment by making the company a non-smoking compound from January 04.

Look out for ‘heart healthy’ activities each month towards a healthy Arawak 2020 and beyond!
