September is ‘Tsunami month’ in Barbados and Arawak Cement is on board the campaign to sensitise Barbadians about tsunamis and other coastal hazards, as well as building capacity.
Signs featuring tsunami safety messages have been placed throughout the communities between Shermans, St. Lucy – home of Arawak Cement, and Mullins, St. Peter, gaining international recognition from UNESCO.
