External auditors Bureau Veritas visited Arawak Cement Co. Ltd. (ACCL) in 2009 as part of the re-certification process for the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System standard.

A series of plant inspections and interviews were conducted, as well as an overall review of the documentation. Situations of non-conformity were actioned and rectified in the prescribed time, ensuring that ACCL’s re-certification was granted.
This certificate demonstrates not only ACCL’s achievement in its environmental performance, but also the company’s commitment to continuous improvement of its environmental management practices.
