The TCL Group was the proud sponsor of the W.I. U-19 team that competed in the International Cricket Council (ICC) Under – 19 World Cup in New Zealand from 15 – 31 January, 2010. The players comprising the full squad were:

The TCL Group W.I. U-19 Team formed part of Group D, in which the other competing teams were Pakistan, Bangladesh and Papua New Guinea. The team moved on to the quarter - final round of the competition, after emerging successful in its matches against Bangladesh and Papua New Guinea. Although the young players were victorious in their semi – final match against England, they lost to Pakistan in their other qualifying match, eliminating them from the finals and their chance at the trophy. They then played for the third place position against Sri Lanka, winning by four wickets.

The TCL Group is pleased with the team’s success at the competition. The players performed well and have certainly done the region proud on the world stage! We are impressed by the high calibre of young cricketers that are emerging from the Caribbean region, which assures us of a bright and positive future of West Indies cricket.
On its return to the Caribbean, the team stopped off at the Grantley Adams Airport in Barbados. Representatives from TCL Group’s Barbadian subsidiary - Arawak Cement Co. Ltd met with the players. The following are a few photos…
