The World Day for Safety and Health at Work is celebrated annually on April 28 to promote occupational accidents and diseases globally.
Arawak Cement Company Limited marked the day with a week-long game of Health and Safety Jeopardy as a fun training tool to increase safety awareness, build team cohesion and evaluate employees existing knowledge on workplace safety.

Groups of 8 to 10 participants from various departments throughout the plant were placed in teams to ensure adherence to the COVID-19 protocols as they competed. Equally, employees who opted to participate virtually were not disappointed as they shared in the fun.

Health & Safety Coordinator Sterna Juman hosted the sessions and kept participants fully engaged with questions in the categories: LOTOTO, Fall Protection, Hot Work, COVID -19 and Safety General.

The game generated much enthusiasm as employees were kept on their toes with their thinking caps on, whilst they showcased their knowledge on the various safety topics with the winners receiving gifts for their outstanding performance.
