Role Challenges: 

Electrical Planner

Ensure the improvement of equipment reliability and maintenance efficiencies through effective inspections and planning.  Assess the condition of equipment and coordinates with others to plan maintenance activities and ensure that the jobs can be executed with the manpower, spare parts and materials required and are completed in a safety and timely manner in keeping with Company requirements and standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Inspects plant housekeeping, ensures a clean work area is maintained; provides recommendations for improvements.
  • Performs regular inspections to evaluate the electrical condition of the Plant; surveys de-dusting systems, generation plant and electrical distribution systems as per established schedule. Provides information for weekly planning meeting.
  • Assists in trouble-shooting of maintenance problems, the conducting of Root Cause Analyses and following up of action items to ensure recommendations made for continuous improvements are implemented.
  • Ensures Preventative Maintenance for all plant equipment is scheduled and executed and calibration plan is performed.
  • Conducts condition monitoring in accordance with recommended schedules.
  • Maintains and updates information and data in the maintenance system, as well as technical documentation. Audits PM schedules and checklists and identifies areas for improvements and includes in work plans.
  • Generates and reviews work requests and work orders. Plans all electrical work on weekly, monthly and shutdown timeline according to priority and by assigning spares, tools, work procedures, drawings, internal and external resources to the job.
  • Update and close work orders. Complete the feedback of work orders in order to maintain control of the asset history.
  • Prepares resources requirement listings, monitors inventory to ensure requirements can be met; liaises with materials and other relevant departments to ensure that all resources are available in time for scheduled work. Perform the required requisitions for materials or services.
  • Assists in planning and scheduling of major equipment overhauls and plant shutdowns.
  • Assists in the development and execution of the annual maintenance budget; tracks maintenance costs.
  • Provides training and support on the use and effective operation of the CMS and Knowledge Management Systems to Operations users through individual and group training sessions.
  • Perform electrical supervision when this becomes necessary, assigning works to personnel and ensuring a good worker performance.
  • Perform Administrative Duties when this becomes necessary including daily timecards, probation reports, overtime report, absenteeism, etc.
  • Performs any other tasks and responsibilities defined by the direct supervisor

 

Qualifications:
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in similar position.
  • Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint
  • Experience with Oracle and SAP
  • Excellent Planning, Organizational, Communication, Numerical, Interpretation and Analysis skills
  • Supervisory Skills
